Digital X-Ray

Digital radiographs, more commonly referred to as "x-rays", are quickly being adopted by a large percentage of the dental industry, and we use them routinely in our office for our patients of all ages.

A digital radiograph allows us to take an image of the tooth or teeth and put it directly onto a computer screen or monitor, with the use of an imaging program. With this system, we can quickly and easily show you any areas of concern with your teeth or oral tissues in a clear, easy to see way. Within the imaging program, there are a number of tools that will allow us to take a very close look at the teeth and surrounding structures with amazing accuracy.

As a benefit to you, the patient, the digital radiograph also exposes our patients to nearly 80% less radiation than a standard x-ray film. This is due to the fact that the digital radiograph sensor is much more sensitive to this radiation than is a traditional film, and has been specifically designed with the patient in mind.
